A downloadable game for Windows

Story:

In the early 1980s, an adventurous group of explorers discovered a vast and complex cave system in the Andes mountains, surpassing any previously known in the region—and possibly the world. The Peruvian government dispatched a team to map the cave, but many did not return, and those who did were deemed mentally unstable. Their preliminary reports mentioned a strange, possibly organic substance found in the cave’s depths, exhibiting bizarre properties that affected light and gravity.

Intrigued, the Peruvian government negotiated a joint venture with the U.S. government amid strained Cold War relations. The U.S. would fund Vanguardias S.A., a Peruvian research company, to investigate, research, and obtain samples of this mysterious substance. In return, the U.S. would receive full access to the research data and rights to develop any applications.

The initial mission was set for one month, considering it took four days to reach the substance and nearly twice as long to return. However, six weeks have passed with no contact from the team. Fearing the worst, both governments contracted an expert spelunker to uncover the truth, retrieve any research data, and initiate rescue efforts for any unlikely survivors.

This game was so much fun and real spooky!!

I loved the voice acting, as well. It really helped set the tone!

I’d  love if you could checkout my Letsplay on it! Unfortunately, I was unable to finish the game but still loved it nonetheless :)

Also, if you need voice actors for future projects, please reach out :)

This game is fantastic - it really brings out fear as we are going through the recordings, and the whole situation is very intriguing. It captured the lovecraftian horror atmosphere perfectly. The voice actors did an amazing job too. My only complaint is the lack of a save feature. At first it didn't bother me, it made the stakes higher, but I constantly ended up dying during the underwater sequences - and after that I had to start again, despite already clearing out a lot of scenes. After the third of fourth try it became really frustrating, and I finally quit when I accidentally returned to the main menu, and I had to start again from the beginning. A save, or autosave feature would make this game basically perfect.

Hey thanks for playing, and the detailed response! Yeah in hindsight the death going back to the main menu instead of reloading in the cave was definitely an oversight. We're going to be releasing an update in the next day or so that fixes some frustration points like that as well as some minor bugs. Still, we definitely appreciate you sticking through it as much as you did. Unfortunately the time-frame of the jam didn't allow for the scope of a full fledged save/checkpoint system, but if it were a larger project it would definitely be a top priority!

Great! I am waiting for the update - and of course, the time frame is totally understandable. Your team did an insane job, especially in such a short time.

The sound and the visuals - very cool, guys!
